Lawrence-Hall Consultants has trained and certified several of Safelink's consultants to provide consultation and internal audits for DAMAS which is offered through the NADL.

Reasons and Benefits:

1. By achieving certification to DAMAS, a dental laboratory demonstrates to its customers that it exercises control and monitoring of its manufacturing processes.

2. The DAMAS system demonstrates that they operate an inspection and quality control system that has been assessed and approved by a recognized Certification Body.

3. DAMAS is an industry-specific standard.

4. ISO13485 is more directly relevant to the manufacture of non-custom made medical devices.

5. ISO9001:2000 is a general standard for all industries.

In the US, DAMAS provides:

1. A standard system for documenting quality manufacturing practices as required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

2. Documentation with a Quality Policy Manual and Procedures Manual.

3. Preparation for the third-party audit by Anglo Japanese American Registrars Ltd (AJA) which is the recognized certification body for DAMAS.
